Shopfront Contemporary Arts & Performance is a unique, not-for-profit arts co-operative for children and young people aged 8 to 25 years. Located in Carlton, Sydney, we have been working in the community for 36 years providing opportunities for all young people, regardless of background or ability, to learn new skills and participate in multi-disciplinary arts projects. Shopfront has been instrumental in establishing a strong and resilient youth arts sector in Australia and in developing thousands of young people who are actively engaged in their communities.
All of the work created in our programs is made by young people who are mentored by arts professionals
Approximately 1000 young people participate in our programs each year
Of all participants, more than half are young people experiencing hardship, disadvantage, isolation or upheaval
Shopfront has a diverse funding base. Our work is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts NSW, the NSW Department of Family and Community, local government, a range of philanthropic organisations and various cross sectoral government departments.
Shopfront has a Board of nine Directors who work together to provide strategic leadership and ensure the organisation has sustainable resources to fulfil its vision and mission.
Director (Treasurer) – Financial Management / Accounting / Audit / Risk
