Shopfront’s Outreach Program has kicked off the year in style with a series of creative arts workshops at Fairfield IEC. This term we are shakin’ and a movin’ with Hip-Hop/Street Dance, creating short-movies and digital stories, developing spoken-word poems and working towards an original devised work that uses the stories, ideas and real experiences of the young people involved.
Artists involved this term: Sarah Emery, Eddi Goodfellow, Alison Fleming and Nelio Sam.
Here is an inside peek into this mornings workshop:

Costume making activity:Divide the class into groups of three or four. Ask for one brave volunteer from each group to be the model. The rest of the group uses newspaper and masking tape to create a costume for that person. Make sure you give the designers a theme – are they making a wedding dress for their model or turning them into an alien or monster?
