This year we give Junior Ensemble the provocation ‘Metamorphosis’ for consideration when developing their new work. Made up of participants aged 8-14, Junior Ensemble will research, create and rehearse over the last two terms to present this new theatre piece. We’re extremely proud to finally show you Never, Ever!
Following our critically acclaimed partnership on 2017’s Dignity of Risk, ATYP and Shopfront Arts Co-op join forces once again to premiere The Lies We Were Told. An ensemble of Young People aged 8-18 will share personal stories and verbatim texts, investigating the moments when it felt like you grew up in one day, or one hour, or one minute and nothing would ever be the same again.
Fed up with life on Earth, a group of Young People hatch a plan to get gone – armed with their wits, humour, and a few tricks up their sleeve, they plan to steal the President’s rocket and make a new start on Planet B. Each rebel has their own reasons for wanting to leave, and their own ideas of what life will be like on another planet – but they all agree that anything is better than staying here.
