CATHY started her career in global media organisations including The BBC and Fairfax creating commercial partnerships through Media Sales and Sponsorship. After 10 successful years she decided to follow her passion for Community Engagement, taking on the role of Community Development Worker and Project Manager at Kogarah Community Services. During nearly 6 years she staged One Billion Rising, an annual Open Air Dance Festival to say No to violence against women, 2 Community Sleep Outs at Jubilee Oval to raise funds and awareness for youth homelessness as well as creating landmark initiatives including “The Year of Yes” and “50 Ways to Love Kogarah in 50 days.
Growing up with a Music Publisher father who was also a successful playwright and songwriter, Cathy was fortunate enough to experience first hand the confidence, support and freedom that The Arts can provide a young person and is thrilled to now be in a position to help create those opportunities for the next generation.
Cathy has a BA (Hons) in Hispanic Studies from The University of Bristol and an Advanced Diploma in Professional Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors.
