Member Show
A show for our members, selected by our members, and made by our members
MEMBERS PITCHES ARE NOW OPEN
In 2024, Shopfront will support a Member Production, from development to public season. You’ll get:
– 3 months residency to develop and rehearse your project from May – August
– mentorship from an experienced artist or industry professional to develop your skills and ideas
– space to rehearse and develop your project
– technical and marketing support
– your work programmed in August as a part of Shopfront’s 2024 Season!
If you are a Shopfront Member aged 16+, we’d love to hear what show YOU would like to put on. You can write, direct, devise, dance… whatever you like as long as the project is original, innovative, it hasn’t been produced elsewhere and Young People hold the key creative roles!
To Pitch a project for members show, fill out the pitch form here!
Pitches are due at midnight on November 26th
As an arts co-op, we are all about supporting the art you, our members, want to make. So if you have a vision we’d love to help it become a reality!
What is a Shopfront Member Show?
It is a show for our members, selected by our members, and made by our members.
How can I be selected to make a Shopfront Members Show?
By registering your show idea. We will take your pitch idea to our Shopfront members who will vote on their favourite. The most popular idea, as selected by our members, will be turned into a Shopfront show!
How do I make a Shopfront Members’ Show?
We will be there to help you every step of the way! Every year we support the development of a Shopfront Member Show project by offering mentorship, access to performance spaces, free workshops, dramaturgical support, and a season to show your work here at Shopfront! Your project can take the form of any live experience. That means it could be anything from traditional theatre, to multi-media, dance, or something else entirely! As long as it’s original, innovative, and driven by Young People in key creative roles. For this opportunity we are also only looking for works that haven’t already been produced elsewhere.
Who can make a Shopfront Members’ Show?
You need to be a Shopfront member, aged 16 and over.
We welcome diversity and encourage artist submissions from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people with disability.
If you are nervous about pitching your ideas, or don’t know how to go about preparing your pitch registration, have no fear! We’re here to support you throughout the process. We are happy to chat! Get in touch by emailing hello@shopfront.org.au or calling 02 9588 3948.
