You and your friends are exploring the outskirts of town after school. Or maybe it’s a shipwreck or a distant galaxy. You hear something behind you and spin round. It’s a choc chip cookie. In fact, you’re surrounded by all kind of random things: a coat hanger, an origami man, a family of pegs and much more. They tell you they’re kids too and that they’ve been sent on a journey… to find you…
The Exchange Project brings together two groups of young people from different sides of Sydney so they can do what they’re best at… be creative! With the help of carrier pigeons Natalie Rose and Chris Dunstan, they’ve asked each other questions, passed objects and bounced off each other’s ideas, turning their experiences of being a kid in their separate communities into gifts for one another. They’ve become friends before they even know each other’s names! And this is how it will remain until they inhabit the same carpark in Mount Druitt, encountering each other and audiences for the first time.
