Tom Crotty

LGBTQIA+ Advisory Chair

Tom Crotty is an early career artist who dons many hats depending on his mode of practice and the weather outside. With a keen interest in performance and writing, Tom seeks to queer the status quo to materialise hidden realities and imagine possible futures on stage and screen. Growing up in Auckland, Aotearoa – Tom now lives and works in Sydney on Gadigal land. Recent stage highlights include: Bleach by Dan Ireland-Reeves (Adelaide Fringe, Theatre Travels, 2020), Cock by Mike Bartlett and The Dog, The Night & The Knife by Marius Von Mayenburg (The Other Theatre Co, 2019). Tom was an ArtsLab resident artist in 2021/22 and created Paris Nights as part of his residency. Tom has trained at Sydney Theatre School, Screenwise, ATYP and has a BA in Media Arts & Production (UTS). Outside of his artistic practice, you’ll likely find Tom tracking down hidden waterfalls or unpacking what remains of his masculinity complex as Club Captain of the Sydney Convicts Rugby Club.

Tom is the chair of the inaugural LGBTQIA+ Advisory Panel
