After a rigorous selection process, Shopfront’s very own Young Leader, Carlee Heise, is a nominee in Westfield Hurstville Local Heroes!
We are so very proud of Carlee and the work that she does for Shopfront and we are so happy to see that her hard work has been recognised with this nomination. A community vote will now determine the final 3 successful Westfield Hurstville Local Heroes, who will each be awarded a grant of $10,000 for their affiliated organisations. So that’s $10,000 for Shopfront thanks to Carlee!
Vote for Carlee in the Westfield Hurstville Local Heroes now to help Carlee secure her spot in the final 3! We can’t do it without you!
Carlee Heise gives young people an opportunity to find their voice through the arts. She is passionate about helping kids find their tribe, especially those who identify as LGBTQI, live with a disability or don’t fit in at school. Carlee is dedicated to bringing the arts to youth from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
“ My passion is bringing creativity, creative expression and joy into the lives of young people through the arts,” says Carlee. “They need to express emotions, explore feelings and investigate uncertainty in a welcoming, safe space.”
If Carlee is successful, Shopfront will use our grant to assist in our delivery of 48 film, drama and visual arts workshops facilitated by artists trained in mental health first aid.
Voting closes on 14 September, so get your vote in now!
